Ph.D. in Computer Science

Daniela López De Luise, former President of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE Argentina), led an organization with over 400,000 members across more than 160 countries, marking a historic milestone in global technological leadership. With over 30 years of experience, more than 300 scientific papers published, and the distinguished honor of Doctor Honoris Causa, she stands as a prominent leader in the fields of artificial intelligence and computational intelligence.

She currently serves as the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Group (AIGroup) at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Palermo (UP) and leads the Computational Intelligence and Information Systems Labs (CI2S LAB), a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing applied research in artificial intelligence.

Dr. López De Luise holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the National University of La Plata and a degree in Information Technology Engineering, among other academic qualifications. She is also the Director of the Specialization in Computer Science Teaching at UADER (Entre Ríos) and a postgraduate professor at various institutions, including the Universidad Austral, where she teaches machine learning; the Universidad Abierta Interamericana (UAI); and the Universidad Señor del Sipán (Peru).

Throughout her career, she has worked on numerous groundbreaking research projects, many in collaboration with Sebastián Cippitelli, addressing challenges in artificial intelligence and computational intelligence. Her contributions include introducing concepts like morphosyntactic wavelets, studying robot consciousness, and proposing new propagation mechanisms in automata theory, such as the model of bacterial consciousness.

As a prominent speaker, she has presented at countless national and international events and has been instrumental in fostering innovation. She founded and directed the AI Group research laboratory at the University of Palermo, established the first database laboratory at ITBA in 1998, and created the scientific PI Network in 2008, leading it until 2013. She also founded the Argentine Chapter of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society and served as its first President in 2005.

Her latest initiative involves a collaboration with the Historical Museum Sarmiento and the Sociedad Científica Argentina (SCA) to establish research, development, and innovation hubs aimed at promoting STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) education. This project seeks to create a collaborative space for researchers, educators, companies, and intermediary organizations.

Negin's expertise includes cleanroom design and setup, staff training, international accreditations, stem cell isolation, exosome extraction, HLA typing, and gene sequence analysis.
